I visited the most amazing shop with hundreds of music boxes. And a shop with hundreds of tiny animals made of glass

The Great Buddha
I visited the Great Buddha in 2016 and 2021. Impressive.
Kamakura
Kamakura has more than 170 temples and 40 shinto shrines. I only visited Hasedera and the Great Buddha. I need to go back and visit more.

. I’ve been away on an overnight trip. I went on the train to Enoshima (2 hours away from here). That is an island on the South coast. It is not far from the mainland, and connected with a bridge. A bit like Rabbit Island I guess.
I so loved seeing the sea again, it made me cry. I sat on the beach for quite a long time and just enjoyed. It reinforced that I need to live close to the sea.
The island is quite hilly and you can walk across using lots of steps. The South side sea was very wild, beautiful. And you can see Mt Fuji from there. The main attractions are the shrines and temples. It also has a few souvenir shops and cafes and restaurants. It is a bit touristy, but still very nice. (the restaurants in Japan are mostly small with usually about 4 or 5 tables.). I loved seeing all the temples. And in one you were allowed inside and just sit. (so far this was the 3rd one). I’ve been collecting stamps in a stamp book, just like I did in Shikoku. There, stamps were freely given, here you have to pay for them, not much, but still. At one temple I got a free stamp (the guy was playing games on his phone, not sure if he forgot to ask for money or …)
The next day I walked along the beach to Kamakura where there are lots of temples and shrines and the big buddha. It was a lovely walk. And when I looked back, snow covered Mt Fuji seemed so large.
I visited a few temples and shrines and had lunch at one temple, sat on the beach a bit more, before heading back on the train. I do enjoy going to temples by myself. Sometimes I feel a bit lonely, but usually I am ok.

Since I’m back at school I don’t walk as much anymore as I used to, so a few photos from here and there.
